On the next ranked loss, a hex shield will be consumed automatically instead of deducting a mark. Ranked Fortitude will be converted into a hex shield after the maximum is reached, and mark loss protection will be activated. Regardless of victory or defeat, the player will get Ranked Fortitude. No mark deductions will occur for players below Bronze tier. Every ranked win will award a mark while a Ranked loss will deduct a mark. Rankings within each division of tiers Emerald and below will be determined by marks. At the end of all the provisional matches, the expected tier will become the player's actual tier. Players can see their expected tier change during the provisional matches. These first few wins will earn bonus marks and fortitude points. New ranked players start out with 10 provisional matches to determine their appropriate rank. The fortitude system will be disabled after reaching the top tiers. Players in the top tiers will slowly lose Victory Points over time of they do not participate in Ranked matches. In addition, Victory points are shared between tiers Master and above. Rankings in top tiers will not be determined by marks. Tier rankings for Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger tiers will be tabulated daily.
